The 1st International Open Friendship Taekwondo Championships was held in Kathmandu, Nepal in
December 20th of 2000. Four teams from 3 countries, Nepal, USA & India competed in four weight
categories in both male & female division. The championships was inaugurated by the His Majesty
the Late Crown Prince of Nepal Dipendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev.
